Opening

(intro: HYPER NIGHT)
Fujimoto: Morning Musume Fujimoto Miki’s DokiMiki Night!
Takahashi: Everyone, good evening! Now… Who do you think I am? Who could I be? Well… I’ll give you a hint, ok? People still call me “country bumpkin”, but I’m that one gal who “already turned into a SHICHII GARU“. “Gal”? Fufu(lol) You probably got it already. I’m Takahashi Ai. Yaaay! Listeners of “DokiMiki Night”, nice to meet you!
If you’re wondering why I’m here talking to you… Miki-chan’s isn’t feeling well, so I, Takahashi Ai, came here as a substitute for her! You know, this is my first time talking alone in a radio show and I’ll try my best to present this to you making as few mistakes as possible when speaking. Well then, today I, Takahashi Ai, will do my best in Mikitty’s place for 30 minutes, so please stay with me until the end!

First let’s have a look at a mail from a listener.

This is from the “greatest Mikitty fan in history” from Tokyo.

I went to the “Morning Musume Fanclub tour in Hawaii!”. I enjoyed it a lot because I was able to see the cute smiling faces of the members from a closer distance than usual during the events like the handshake event. I’m really glad I went there.
A recording of an open to the public TV show took place before the mini concert on that day, right? What I noticed during that recording was that while the members the camera was pointing at were talking, the other members mostly put their mics on their lap and only Mikitty looked like she was holding her mic tightly and waiting for a good timing for tsukkomi.
Is Mikitty in charge of tsukkomi anywhere and anytime after all?

Takahashi: That’s right… She’s not only in charge of tsukkomi, she clearly IS the tsukkomi character. And I get tsukkomi’d all the time, it’s almost like… Whenever I say a word I get tsukkomi’d by her, so I sometimes feel like “It’s enough already!”… But for some reason I often get told that I’m “an ideal victim for a tsukkomi” and if I keep thinking about everything I say I’ll end up not saying anything anymore, so I try to talk without thinking too much. Yes.
Let’s see… Right, I went to Hawaii recently, huh? That’s right… Was it for 9 days? When I was in Hawaii, I thought to myself “What a nice environment.”.. Somehow time passed by very slowly and… I had the feeling that it suited my body clock. (lol)
But I had one crazy appetite. It was terrible because I had too much appetite. That’s why being in Hawaii is a bit dangerous.
I ended up thinking “I want to live in Hawaii~!”. The food was delicious and I had three meals a day. Not only three meals, I could eat until I was full. If it’s a Japanese box lunch for example, it can happen that you don’t eat all of it, right? But in Hawaii I ate everything without really leaving anything behind… Yes, enough of this talk. (lol)

Yes, well then, first I’d like you to listen to a song now. I, Takahashi Ai, and Tsunku♂-san singing “LOVE ~since 1999~”.

Song: Tsunku♂ with Takahashi Ai 「LOVE ~since 1999~」 (3′38”)

Takahashi: You just listened to “LOVE ~since 1999~” from Tsunku♂-san’s album “TAKE1″.

Quiz! DokiMiki Question (5′57”)

Fujimoto: Quiz! DokiMiki Question!
Takahashi: Now this seems to be a corner where you have to answer a quiz question within a time limit of one minute. It’s supposed to make Takahashi Ai feel DokiMiki. If you give the correct answer, you’ll get one golden star and if you can’t, you’ll get one black star. The current score is 1 golden star and 1 black star. (you get punished if you get your 5th black star)
According to what I heard, she had to drink an “undiluted solution of black vinegar” as a punishment the other day, so humbly I, Takahashi Ai, will try to give the correct answer to the quiz question and help her get one more golden star. Leave it to me, Mikitty!
Well then, let’s directly move on to the question! “Move”.. (lol)
This question is from “Romantic doesn’t stop 98′” in Yamagata prefecture.

Even though it’s very heavy, you can easily pick it up with one hand. What is it?

Takahashi: Something very heavy?! “You can easily pick it up with one hand”… What the…?! Ehh, I have no idea! No idea at all. What do I do? Eh, it’s heavy, right? Heavy… It’s heavy, so… I don’t get it, I really don’t get it. What should I do?! Ehh! I really don’t know!!! Umm… Eh, it’s heavy, ain’t it? It’s heavy and you can pick it up with one hand… Eh, wait a moment… Eh, I really don’t get it at all. With one hand?! Eh, wait a sec, something heavy… It’s an object, isn’t it? It’s an object, but you can still… How come you can pick it up even though it’s an object? What’s with this? Something you can easily pick up? Eh? Eh, I really don’t get it. What should I do? Eh?! Ehhh, wait a second, I really don’t get it… Eh, what’s this…
(time up)
Ehhh!! I’m sorry, Mikitty!!! I don’t get it at all.
(looks at the correct answer)
AHHHHH!!! I got it! I understand… That I get it now doesn’t help anymore, huh? (lol)
Yes, the answer is “TAXI”!!
No way you’d get it, right? Something heavy, right? No way.
Yes. I’m sorry, Mikitty… (lol) Now she’s got one more black star… Ahh… I’m really sorry, Miki-chan… (lol) I really didn’t get it.
Well then, this corner awaits quiz questions from you which make Miki-chan feel DokiMiki. Please send us questions without hesitation! That was all from “Quiz! DokiMiki Question”! The next corner is this…

sad

Kanashii Takahashi Ai (8′44”)

Kanashii Takahashi Ai
Takahashi: Now, this corner is a shameless rip-off of Itsumo koko kara’s skit “Kanashii toki“. Actually this corner is called “Kanashii Miki”, but since I’m here today as a pinch hitter, the corner name was changed to “Kanashii Takahashi Ai”.
Well then, today let’s have a look at everyday moments when you become just a wee bit sad!

The first “sad moment” is from “Spot Yano”-san in Yokkaichi city, Mie prefecture!

When I got a new haircut and no one at school asked me “You got a new haircut?” on the next day!!!
Takahashi:: Right… That happens to me often.
Like when I had grown my hair for a long time and thought of having it colored. After getting it colored I was really looking forward to the other members’ reactions when they see it on the next day, but no one noticed a thing and I was really sad…
Even though it was them who told me to have it done… it makes you think “Eh? No one notices anyway..”.
Yes, it happens often.

Moving on, the next “sad moment” is from “Baseball mask”-san in Oogaki city, Gifu prefecture.

When I thought someone called my name and turned around to notice that it was for someone else!!!
Takahashi:: This also happens to me very often. How should I put it… Among the staff there are people with the same family name as me.
So when I hear “Takahashi!”, I react like “Eh?”, but the person who called is looking into a completely different direction for example. Then I’m like “Ah…” and feel more embarrassed than sad thinking “Ah, it wasn’t me that person meant.”.

Yes, moving on, the next “sad moment” is from “Mikitty Daian”-san in Yonago city, Tottori prefecture.

When I saw one of Ishikawa-san’s lame gags!!!
Takahashi:: This happens a lot too. They’re kinda lame and lately she even imitates a cat, you know? So I watch her do that while thinking “Eh? This person’s going to be 20 soon, right?”. (lol)
She even says “Nyan, nyan” and does that pose too. Michishige-san… Michishige Sayumi-chan says “Nyan, nyan” pretty often too, but well, it’s cute in her case, isn’t it? But when Ishikawa-san does it I feel like “Ah, as I thought… ah, it’s enough already.”. (lol)

Yes, then let’s move on to the next. The “sad moment” of “Nakamu”-san in Amagun, Aichi prefecture.

When I was watching a moving drama, but couldn’t get into it because my parents were snoring next to me and just when the drama ended, they stopped snoring!!!
Takahashi:: Well… This is really unpleasant. Like when you’re finally getting into the drama and start becoming all “Uhh… uhh…” and you hear that “Snore!”, then you’d snap out of it, right? (lol)

Well then, two more! The “sad moment” of “Bakibaki Train”-san in Saitama prefecture.

When I failed in a haromoni team game and saw my team members crying out loud!!!
Takahashi:: …which would be definitely me. (lol)
What was it again? Was it a soccer game in haromoni? When we had a free throw contest, my turn came pretty early. And I kicked the ball thinking I could definitely score, but… I missed. And I felt pretty self-confident too. So after that my self-confidence was shattered at once and I felt I had done something inexcusable to my team members. I said “I’m so sorry..” and started crying..
I really hate collective responsibility. Of course you have your own responsibility to carry, the feeling that you mustn’t make a mistake, but in case of collective responsibility that feeling is much stronger, right? That’s why… I really don’t like it… (lol)

Now the last one! The “sad moment” of “Casper”-san in Handa city, Aichi prefecture.

When I patiently listened to an extremely long story of my friend only to find out in the end that it doesn’t have a punch line!!!
Takahashi:: Ahh, people often tell me that. (lol)
I was trying my best to explain something and… recently a friend told me that. I was talking for quite a while… What was I trying to explain to her? I think I was telling her what happened on that day for like an eternity and she asked me “Does that have a punch line?”. I even asked back “Eh? Does someone’s talk need a punch line?”. Somehow it seems like my stories don’t have punch lines. She told me “And I was doing my best and listening to it all!”. It’s exactly the same as in this mail, huh? (lol)

Yes, well, this was the “Kanashii Miki” corner! We’re awaiting mails from you, please send mails to this corner without any hesitation!
Now please have a listen to this song. It’s the last Morning Musume song with Gotou-san. “Do it! Now”.

Song: Morning Musume’s 「Do it! Now」 (14′04”)

Takahashi: You just listened to Morning Musume’s “Do it! Now”.

ura

HEART no uragawa, let’s do! Daihakken! (18′17”)

Takahashi: Yes, I, Takahashi Ai, am here as a pinch hitter in Fujimoto Miki’s place in today evening’s “DokiMiki Night”!
This is a normally very exciting personality test corner which exists to “bring out the girly side of Fujimoto Miki which is hidden on the other side of her heart”, but this time I, Takahashi Ai, am going to challenge myself by taking this personality test!
Well… In my case, I’m just a normal girl as you can see. You don’t really have to look at the other side of my heart to find my girly side.
Now let’s directly start the first personality test. Let’s do!
This personality test was sent in by “White truffle”-san in Tokyo.

You’re about to take a souvenir picture with the Paris Eiffel tower behind you. Now what kind of composition do you choose?

  1. You take a picture which shows the Eiffel tower and the upper half of your body.
  2. You take a picture which shows your face up close and only a part of the Eiffel tower.
  3. You take a picture which shows the Eiffel tower and your whole body.
  4. You take a picture which shows the Eiffel tower and you making a funny pose.
  5. You take a picture which shows the Eiffel tower in the middle and you only on one side.
Takahashi: Ehh… I think I’d choose (5)… “You take a picture which shows the Eiffel tower in the middle and you only on one side.”. Now let’s look at the explanation of the answers.
(Daihakken♪)
Here’s the explanation.
This test tells you the level of success in your life.

  1. If you’ve chosen (1), could it be that you have a unique personality and above-average abilities, but you can’t show it to others and feel frustrated? You’re someone who’s fairly successful and who could turn into an amazing person given one chance.
  2. If you’ve chosen (2), you’re a selfless person who wouldn’t mind little sacrifices in order to make others happy. Since you don’t get rewarded for all that, one can’t really say that you’re successful in life. Try to say “No!” at times.
  3. If you’ve chosen (3), you’re the type who creates possibilities for yourself by devoting yourself to a supporting role. You’re so successful in life that one might think that you’re secretly aiming for the leading role. You go straight for the position of the subleader instead of the leader.
  4. If you’ve chosen (4), your evaluation of your surroundings has pros and cons. That also shows how much diversity you possess. You’re the type who doesn’t make any effort to become successful, but whose popularity rises all by itself.
  5. If you’ve chosen (5), you’re the type to be most successful in life. You naturally attract attention and become a popular person. One could say that you’re naturally successful in life. But you’ll utterly fail if you get too carried away, so please be careful of that.
Takahashi: Ahhha~~(lol) It says I’ll be successful in life! Wah, amazing! Even “most successful”! It says “most successful”. I did it!
But, you know, if I say things like “I did it!” and get too carried away, I’ll fail, so I’ll leave it at that.

Yes, now let’s move on to the next one!

This personality test is from “TEROSUTE Majin”-san in Fukushima prefecture.

There’s a tunnel on a steep mountain road. Standing in front of the tunnel entrance, you notice that there’s something on the other side of the tunnel.
Now what could be on the other side of the tunnel?
It can be a person, object or animal, so please answer with what comes to your mind first.

Takahashi: Ehhhh?! “Whatever comes to your mind” means that it’s up to my imagination, right? What should I say… A ghost! Ahaha(lol) A ghost is there!
Yes, now let’s have a look at the explanation.
(Daihakken♪)
“If you said it’s an object or a person, then it’s what you had the deepest relation with in your previous life.”?!!! Iyaaaa~~~!!! So it was a ghost?! For me?! Eh? A ghost?! Eh, eh, yes, a ghost. It seems like it was a ghost.
Yes, let’s move on. (lol) Because this is scary.
This personality test is from “Convolvulus”-san in Shiba prefecture.

Your friend is telling you about his problems and worries.
What kind of sitting posture do you take while listening to your friend’s talk?

  1. You sit on a chair with your legs straight down.
  2. You sit on a chair with your legs to one side.
  3. You sit on a chair with your legs crossed.
  4. You sit on a chair with your legs open.
Takahashi: What number is it for me.. Normally I open my legs when I’m sitting on a chair. I heard that people who sit with legs open don’t have any inner muscles. Inner-thigh muscles. But well, since it’s strange for a girl to sit like that…
I’ll choose (1)! “You sit on a chair with your legs straight down.”.

Well then, let’s have a look at the explanation.
(Daihakken♪)

This test tells you how risky it is to tell you a secret.

  1. If you’ve chosen (1), the risk level is at 10%. You’re a tight-lipped person who respects the privacy of others.
  2. If you’ve chosen (2), the risk level is at 40%. You never pass someone’s secret out of fun, but it’s possible that you do it when you feel it’s necessary e.g. when you feel jealous of that person.
  3. If you’ve chosen (3), the risk level is at 70%. You don’t mean no harm, but since you’re a person like gossiping, you end up unintentionally talking about others’ secrets in the heat of the moment.
  4. If you’ve chosen (4), the risk level is at 90%. You’re the type who wants to know others’ secrets no matter what they might be and you can never keep silent about them once you’ve found out. On the other hand there’s also the risk that you might exaggerate and blow them out of proportions. Please be more careful.
Uwaa! I was about to choose (4)! Eh, it was exactly the opposite, huh? Ehh, I’m glad.. Ahh..
Eh? Ahaha(lol) I just got told “Wasn’t it actually (4) for you?”. That’s right… I might be a bit like that. Well, you know, it’s good like this, right?

Yes… Well, Takahashi Ai’s true colors showed a bit there, but.. (lol) How did you like it?
Well… It was somehow unexpected.. How do you call it… I felt like “Ah, I was related to a ghost, huh?”. In my previous life.
Recently I went to a fortune teller and got told that I was a shrine maiden in my previous life. So it might have something to do with that. Ahh, somehow this is scary…
Well then, if you know any interesting personality tests, please send them to us by all means!

Berryz Koubou’s “Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai”.

Song: Berryz Koubou’s 「Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai」 (25′48”)

Takahashi: You just listened to Berryz Koubou’s “Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai”.

Ending (27′15”)

Fujimoto: Dokidoki Tokimeki DokiMiki Night!
Takahashi: Yes, it’s time for the ending!
We’re awaiting messages to all the different corners of this show! Please send us a lot of them!

Yes… Today I got here as a pinch hitter, but I didn’t know what exactly a pinch hitter is. I totally panicked thinking “What should I do?!” and here I am already at the ending.
Now I’ll tell you the latest information about us!
Right now we’re in the middle of the Morning Musume Concert Tour “The Best of Japan Natsu~Aki ‘04″. On September 23rd, which is Gotou-san’s brithday by the way, we’ll have a live concert in SunDome Fukui in Fukui prefecture which is the hometown of me, Takahashi Ai! Yaaay! (applause)
Please come visit us by all means!
After that we’ll visit many places in the whole country, so please come visit us when we’re close by, ok?
Well, now it’s time to say goodbye!
Ah, right! There’s a fixed phrase you have to say at the end of this show, right? Will I be able to say it properly? In case I can’t, please don’t tell it to Miki-chan, got it? Ok, here I go.

Let’s be full of energy and excited next week again!
That was Takahashi Ai. Byecha~!!

Presenting a fantastic Morning Musume x Takarazuka play to you

A must-see family musical in the summer holidays

The play of August in Shinjuku Koma theater is the 2nd collaboration of Morning Musume and Takarazuka who got highly praised for their “Ribon no Kishi the musical” in 2006. Takahashi Ai-san (Cinderella), Niigaki Risa-san (Prince) and Asaji Saki-san (Fairy Godmother) talked about the practice and about the members’ thoughts about the play who are enthusiastically waiting for the raising of the curtains.

- Your last play “Ribon no Kishi” gained a lot of attention because of it’s high level of perfection.
Takahashi: Thank you very much. I really learned a lot of things and gained a bit of self-confidence too.
Asaji: I could only watch it on DVD because I wasn’t in Japan at that time, but I was surprised to see a full-blown musical. I also heard that there were many MM fans who watched “Ribon no Kishi” and came to like musicals.
Niigaki: Yes, we were happy that there were so many of them.
- Takahashi-san, you’ve been a big fan of the Takarazuka Revue from a long time ago, right?
Takahashi: I often went to watch plays in the Takarazuka Grand Theater from when I was small. Actually I’ve watched Asaji-san’s plays too. I think I watched “Emperor” when I was in 5th year of elementary school.
Asaji: Ehh! That was my graduation play! Thank you very much. (lol)
Takahashi: I admired Takarazuka so much that I even thought of joining them, so this time it’s like my dreams are coming true and I feel that I’m a very fortunate person.
Niigaki: I was also often asked by Aichan to go watch Takarazuka plays together with her and I thought it was gorgeous and stylish. That’s why I’m very nervous about being on the stage together with all the Takarazuka members.
Asaji: My son is very excited about her mom being on the stage together with Morning Musume. (lol)
- What did you have to pay attention to when creating your roles this time?
Takahashi: In “Ribon no Kishi” I played a character who was similar to me in some points, but Cinderella this time is obedient, cute and graceful, her character is exactly opposite to mine. (lol) Day to day I’m at odds with myself because I have to play the role without destroying the image of Cinderella everyone has.
Niigaki: I got the role of the prince, but there are so many points where I have to struggle e.g. the way to bring out my voice etcetc. In the training room I get lots of advice from Takarazuka members who play male roles and learn a lot everyday.
Asaji: I really think the role of the prince this time is perfect for Niigaki-san. It’s completely different from the male roles in Takarazuka, he’s rather really cute because it feels like he’s a boy who came out of the anime world.
Niigaki: But right now I still end up getting led by Aichan in the waltz dancing scene. (lol) That’s why I’ll do my best until the performances so I can become a prince who can lead Aichan.
Asaji: I, on the other hand, have to worry about how to look cute since I’m quite a bit taller than everyone else. (lol) The role I play is not that of a human being, so I wonder if it’s better if I act like a strange and mysterious person.
- So the highlights are the quick-change and flying scenes of the fairy godmother, huh?
Asaji: That too, but the music composed by Rodgers & Hammerstein is very nice. They’re easy to remember for kids too, maybe they’ll be singing the songs on their way home.
Takahashi: We want to play the roles in a way that everyone can relate to them and we want to make it a musical which gives everyone a smile after watching, so we’d like all kinds of people to come watch it.
Niigaki: I think it’d be great if we can create a play, so that everyone says that “Cinderella” is their best memory of these summer holidays. Look forward to the final show too!
Asaji: The wonderful music and set should fascinate children of course and adults too, so please come watch it by all means with your whole family.

Takahashi Ai: “I always admired Takarazuka, so it’s like a dream being fulfilled.”
Niigaki Risa: “I have to become a prince who can lead Aichan!”
Asaji Saki: “My son is very happy about me being on the same stage as Morning Musume.”

Opening

Fujimoto: We’ll do our best with lots of energy!
Everyone: Haro Puro Yanen!
(intro: “Dekkai Uchuu ni Ai ga Aru”)
Fujimoto: Well, it’s time for Haro Puro Yanen! again. This week’s presenters are.. Good evening, I’m Morning Musume Otome gumi’s Fujimoto Miki. If I’m asked what kind of person Miki is, I’d say.. even though I’m a girl, I’m candid. (lol)
Everyone: Ahh.. (lol)
Takahashi: I see.
Fujimoto: But I don’t act very strong either. I think this contradictory part of me is my strong point. Yes. And now..
Michishige: Good evening, I’m Morning Musume Otome gumi’s Michishige Sayumi. I’ve been into reading manga while eating sweets lately.
Takahashi: (lol)
Fujimoto: It’s not only lately, right?
Michishige: From quite a while ago..
Takahashi: You often see her doing that.
Michishige: (lol) That’s right.
Fujimoto: Yes. Now..
Takahashi: I’m Morning Musume Sakura gumi’s Takahashi Ai! Umm.. Lately I’ve been forgetting too many things.
Fujimoto: Already? At your age?
Takahashi: (lol) I wonder why.. I even forget what I said after a short while.
Michishige: You really do.
Takahashi: Yeah.
Fujimoto: (lol) One can often see your tendency to forget things.
Takahashi: One can?
Fujimoto: Yes. (lol)
Takahashi: Then from now on I’ll try to pay a bit more attention to what I say.
Everyone: (lol)
Fujimoto: (lol) Please do that.
Takahashi: Yes. And now..
Kamei: Yes. I’m Morning Musume Sakura gumi’s Kamei Eri. Lately I.. it’s a bit bleak, but.. I’ve been a bit into attaching a pocket heater onto my belly when I’m cold.
Fujimoto: (lol) It’s something you can be into?!
Takahashi: (lol) You’re right..
Kamei: When you have it around your belly all the time, you really don’t feel cold!
Fujimoto: I know what you mean. I really know.
Kamei: You know what I mean, right?
Michishige: If you use it, when your belly’s hurting, the pain directly stops.
Kamei: Right, right!
Fujimoto: Haha(lol)
Takahashi: Fujimoto-san is sensitive to cold too, right?
Fujimoto: I am…
Kamei: Fujimoto-san is extremely sensitive to cold, right?
Fujimoto: It’s extreme, yeah..
Michishige: Even though you’re from Hokkaido.. (Hokkaido is known for it’s coldness.)
Fujimoto: People often tell me that.. The year before last I turned my heater on in August.
Takahashi: Darn, that’s early!
Michishige: Eh?!
Kamei: So early..
Fujimoto: At that time it was very cold for about a week.
Takahashi: Yes.
Michishige: Ehh.. In August?
Fujimoto: Yes! It really was cold!
Takahashi: But it wasn’t cold even in September.
Fujimoto: And I was wearing pajamas or t-shirts and shorts at that time. I thought “Ah, it’s cold!”.
Michishige: (lol)
Fujimoto: Now that I think about it I should have just put on something with long sleeves.. (lol) But at that time I tried to endure it. While thinking “Ah, cold, cold!” I tried to endure it, but..
Kamei: Yes.
Fujimoto: ..then I thought “I can’t take it anymore!” and set the heater to 30°C.
Michishige: Haha(lol)
Takahashi: No, no, no..
Kamei: Ehhh?
Takahashi: Ehhh~
Fujimoto: That’s what I did.. Yes.
Michishige: Fujimoto-san, when we were about to drive in a car together.. it was still summer at that time..
Fujimoto: (lol)
Michishige: Everyone was wearing sleeveless shirts and Fujimoto-san was the only one wearing a long-sleeved shirt.
Fujimoto: Haha(lol)
Michishige: She came in saying “Good morning!” and I thought “It must be really hot with that long-sleeved shirt…”. Then Fujimoto-san turned on the heater..
Fujimoto: Ahaha(lol) Right, that happens.
Michishige: And we all said “But it’s so hot in here that it makes you sweat!”.
Takahashi: Ahh.. That often happens.
Kamei: When I sometimes see you in the morning, I think to myself “Huh? She’s wearing fluffy clothes today…”…
Fujimoto: Ahhh..
Kamei: Because you wear clothes like those all the time.
Fujimoto: Clothes like these, right?
Kamei: Yes.
Fujimoto: I thought “It’s so cold…”.
Kamei: (lol)
Takahashi: But there are many people from Hokkaido who are like you, right?
Fujimoto: There are! Iida-san is sensitive to cold too!
Takahashi: Iida-san.. and Abe-san often says that she’s cold too.
Kamei: Ahh, I see.
Fujimoto: Yeah. That’s true..
Michishige: So it’s the opposite. (Meaning that people who come from a cold place are sensitive to the cold and not resistant against it.)
Fujimoto: Yeah. Well, this is who we four are.
Everyone: Yes.
Fujimoto: Please stay with us tonight until 2 am!
Takahashi: Yes.

Haro Puro Number One (03′22”)

(intro: “Dekkai Uchuu ni Ai ga Aru”)
Fujimoto: 1008 kHz ABC Radio presents to you!
Michishige: The Hello! Project program “Haro Puro Yanen!”.
Fujimoto: This week it’s Morning Musume Otome gumi’s Fujimoto Miki and…
Michishige: Michishige Sayumi!
Takahashi: Morning Musume Sakura gumi’s Takahashi Ai and…
Kamei: Kamei Eri!
Fujimoto: We’re presenting this to you with lots of energy!
(intro: “Dekkai Uchuu ni Ai ga Aru”)
Fujimoto: Haro Puro Number One!
(intro: “Shabondama”)
Fujimoto: Now in this corner we decide by ourselves which H!P member is best fit for a given category, the H!P number one.
Everyone: Yes.
Fujimoto: This week’s categories… There are three of them.
Everyone: Yes.
Fujimoto: Then.. let’s point at the one we want at the same time.
Takahashi: Ok.
Everyone: One, two… This!
Takahashi: Ara~! We split up nicely there!
Fujimoto: (lol) First the stone, Jankenpon! Ah, I lost! (lol)
Takahashi: I won!
Fujimoto: Then let’s go with this one..(lol)
Takahashi: Yes.
Fujimoto: Yes. Umm… Haha(lol)
Michishige: Tada~!
Fujimoto: This week’s category is… “Someone who’d be scary if you make her angry.“.
Takahashi: Ehhhhhh~~~!!
Michishige: I know! I know! I know! I know!
Fujimoto: Wait a moment, wait a moment..
Michishige: It’s Fujimoto-san!
Fujimoto: Haha(lol)
Takahashi: That was quick!
Fujimoto: Why meeee?!
Michishige: Fujimoto-san… Fujimoto-san.
Fujimoto: (lol) Why me?
Takahashi: So Michishige-san says it’s.. Fujimoto-san..
Michishige: Yes.
Fujimoto: Ehhh~?!
Takahashi: Why her?
Michishige: Umm…
Fujimoto: But it never happened, right?
Michshige: It didn’t, but Fujimoto-san seems…. somehow scary.
Fujimoto: Ehhh?! (lol)
Takahashi: Ahhaaa~! (lol)
Fujimoto: I never got mad at you, right?
Michishige: You didn’t, but… at times when you’re a bit spaced out…
Fujimoto: Haha(lol)
Michishige: You have a really scary…
Takahashi: Ahh… Scary!
Fujimoto: Ahh… The face I make when I’m spacing out, right? People often tell me that.
Michishige: That’s why I thought you probably make the same face when you’re angry..
Fujimoto: Hehehe(lol)
Takahashi: But it seemed to bother you, right?
Fujimoto: Yeah…
Takahashi: You kept wondering why.
Fujimoto: Isn’t it somehow sad when people keep asking “Are you angry?” even though I’m being normal? (lol)
Takahashi: Yeah. Like “Am I scary or what?”.
Fujimoto: Then I’m like “I’m NOT angry!”.
Kamei: I often hear that dialog. (lol)
Fujimoto: I often get asked “Are you angry?”.. or Yaguchi-san says “Mikitty, Mikitty!”. (lol) Then I ask “Ah, did I make a scary face again? I’m sorry.”. (lol)
Takahashi: But it’s ok because the others tell you when you’re doing it again.
Fujimoto: You’re right. Yeah. Miki.. Well, this is about H!P members, you know? There are many members who come into question, right?
Kamei: There are many…
Fujimoto: And out of all of them you chose Miki? Shige-san, you’re ok with choosing Miki out of all of them?
Michishige: Miki… “Miki”? (lol)
Everyone: (lol)
Fujimoto: You’re ok with Miki?
Michishige: Yeah.
Fujimoto: I see.. What about you, Eri?
Kamei: For Eri it’s… well, the first one who came to my mind is Saitou-san.
Everyone: Ahhhh…
Kamei: She’s kind, but… the image I have of her is that she might directly say if she doesn’t like something and that it might be scary if you make her angry.
Fujimoto: Saitou-san from Melon Kinenbi, right?
Kamei: Yes. A Melon Kinenbi member.
Takahashi: Ahh, well if you put it like that..
Kamei: Doesn’t she seem like that for you?
Michishige: She seems strong.
Fujimoto: I know what you mean, yeah.
Kamei: Her blonde hair and.. her deep red lips.. that alone is enough to scare me.
Fujimoto: (lol)
Takahashi: (lol) Ohh, is that so?
Fujimoto: I see.. What about you, Aichan?
Takahashi: For Takahashi, it’s… Asami-chan. Surprisingly it might be Konno Asami-chan.
Fujimoto: Ahh…
Takahashi: She hasn’t even once been really angry yet, right?
Fujimoto: You’re right..
Takahashi: That’s why.. I thought it might be scary if she’s angry.
Fujimoto: Ahhh…
Takahashi: Since she’s never been angry, if she’s angry I’ll probably think “Ah! She’s angry!!!”.
Fujimoto: Mmm… It’d surprise everyone, right?
Takahashi: I’d like to try making her angry a bit.
Michishige: Ahh, I want to see that!
Fujimoto: I want to see that too. As for Miki… who could it be… One of the Gomattou members. Gocchin or Aya-chan.
Kamei: Ahhh!
Takahashi: Ah, I see… I think I’ve never seen Gotou-san angry.
Fujimoto: I haven’t seen Gocchin angry, I haven’t seen Aya-chan angry either.
Michishige: I see..
Fujimoto: I mean.. I don’t give her a reason to be angry at me. (lol) When we’re together…
Everyone: Haha(lol)
Fujimoto: I’ve never seen her angry… But in general people who are normally quiet… when they’re angry, you’ll be like “Ah!!!”.
Michishige: Ah, you’re right.
Takahashi: But somehow you still want to see how it is, right?
Fujimoto: Yeah… Konkon does seem scary when she’s angry.
Takahashi: Yeah! Not that I know how it is, but..
Fujimoto: Yeah, maybe not scary, but I’d really like to see it.
Michishige: I want to see it too!
Takahashi: I think her voice will get squeaky! Like “”!/&%’*?§”. (imitating Konno with a high-pitched voice)
Everyone: Haha(lol)
Fujimoto: I think even if she became angry, no one would realize she’s angry. (lol)
Takahashi: Yeah..
Fujimoto: (imitating Konno) “Isn’t it something something?! Isn’t it something something!” (lol)
Takahashi: But you know, she often talks about food.
Fujimoto: Yeah.
Takahashi: When she does that, she starts speaking extremely fast!
Fujimoto: Hahaha(lol)
Takahashi: (imitating Konno) “This is so yummy and blah blah blah”
Fujimoto: Ahhh.. I think I’ve heard her talk like that.
Takahashi: That’s why I think it’s possible that she starts speaking really fast when she’s angry.
Fujimoto: Ahh.. I see. Then the member who’d be scary if you make her angry number one is… Konno Asami-chan!
Takahashi: Wai!
Michishige: Yay!
Fujimoto: Yes. Now we have two envelopes left here. Which one would you like? One, two…
(everyone except Fujimoto points at the same envelope)
Fujimoto: Huh? Why am I the only one?
Takahashi: Waii!
Fujimoto: Well, who cares. Let’s take that one.
Michishige: Only Fujimoto-san chose something different.
Fujimoto: (opens the envelope) This… “Someone who’s good at dancing“.
Kamei: Mmm…
Michishige: Hmm…
Takahashi: Dance… Ahhhhh…
Fujimoto: Ohhh… An H!P member.
Takahashi: An H!P member.
Fujimoto: Yeah. It can be a MM member, a solo artist or someone from a unit…
Takahashi: Then shall we go in the opposite order this time?
Fujimoto: Shall we?
Takahashi: Yeah.
Fujimoto: Let’s see.. In Morning Musume, it’d be… Yaguchi-san or Aichan or…
Takahashi: NO WAY!
Kamei: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Fujimoto: …Mako-chan.
Michishige: Their moves are amazing, right?
Fujimoto: Amazing, yeah.
Takahashi: Amazing… Yes, definitely.
Fujimoto: But for some reason I think Gocchin is the most amazing after all.
Takahashi: Yeah!
Fujimoto: It’s almost like the way she moves isn’t that of a human being.
Takahashi: (lol)
Michishige: (lol) She’s so cool.
Fujimoto: I think it’s Gocchin for me.
Takahashi: Hmm..
Fujimoto: What about you, Aichan?
Takahashi: I… I thought of Gotou-san too. But… Makoto is really good too.
Fujimoto: Makoto is really cool.
Takahashi: Yes, she is. But Gotou-san’s skillfulness and Makoto’s skillfulness are different though.
Fujimoto: Yeah, they’re different!
Takahashi: Yeah.
Michishige: Ahh…
Takahashi: It might be Gotou-san for me too..
Fujimoto: Which one is it? (lol)
Takahashi: I wonder… In Morning Musume it’s Makoto.
Fujimoto: Yeah.
Takahashi: And it was Gotou-san when she was still in Morning Musume. After I saw Gotou-san dancing I tried to imitate it.
Fujimoto: Yeah.
Takahashi: Maybe I want to become like Gotou-san.
Fujimoto: Ahh..
Takahashi: But the one I unconsciously look at in Otome is Makoto.
Fujimoto: Ahhh..
Takahashi: Thinking that she’s skilled and cool..
Fujimoto: I see.. What about you, Erieri?
Kamei: For me… it’s Takahashi-san in Morning Musume too.
Takahashi: Ara! Me?!
Fujimoto: You look surprised. (lol)
Michishige: (lol) Your eyes got big!
Kamei: While watching you dance I always think “Wahhh!”..
Takahashi: Araa~~!
Kamei: And I think in H!P it’s Gotou-san for me too.
Fujimoto: Ahhh…
Takahashi: She’s our favorite, huh?
Michishige: She is.
Kamei: Yeah. When I watch her dance I always think she’s cool.
Fujimoto: She’s got a huge presence, right?
Kamei: She does..
Michishige: She’s got that something.
Takahashi: Yeah, she’s got that something.
Fujimoto: Yeah.. What about you, Shige-san?
Michishige: Umm… For me it’s Takahashi-san.
Takahashi: Ara~!
Fujimoto: Ohh!
Takahashi: Ohh, somehow this is embarrassing..
Michishige: In live performances of “Souda!” I’m always right behind Takahashi-san.
Takahashi: Ahh.. be.. behind, huh?
Michishige: Eh?
Fujimoto: Behind?
Michishige: She’s behind me… Ah, behind me!
Everyone: (lol)
Michishige: And… Takahashi-san can jump really high!
Takahashi: Ah, really?
Michishige: That’s why I think to myself “Today I’ll definitely jump higher than Takahashi-san!”…
Fujimoto: Ohhh!
Takahashi: That’s admirable!
Michishige: No, no…
Fujimoto: That’s good.
Takahashi: That’s a good way of thinking!
Fujimoto: Yeah.
Michishige: No, no. And I always think “Takahashi-san is so good.”.
Takahashi: Ah, thank you very much.
Michishige: And in choreography videos I always look at Takahashi-san when I’m learning the dance.
Takahashi: No way! It’s better not to look at me in choreography videos!
Michishige: Why not?
Takahashi: When I watch the choreography videos I think to myself “Ah, my moves are really bad.”.
Fujimoto: Really?
Takahashi: So I try to improve…
Fujimoto: But even after learning the choreography you sometimes think “Huh? What was the next move?”. (lol)
Takahashi: Yeah, your body just wouldn’t move!
Fujimoto: I often think to myself “You did a good job learning all this.”.
Takahashi: Ahh…
Fujimoto: Because… sometimes it happens that we don’t have much time to learn them, right?
Takahashi: Yeah.
Fujimoto: And I think afterwards “Wow, you really learned the choreography of a whole song, 3 to 4 minutes long, in such a short time..”.
Takahashi: But you’re really quick at learning them!
Fujimoto: Yeah, everyone in Momusu is really quick.
Takahashi: Yeah, but Mikitty is even quicker!
Fujimoto: Mikitty is quick? (lol)
Michishige: You learn them really quickly!
Kamei: Fujimoto-san, you’re too quick at it!
Takahashi: I think it’s because you’re intelligent.
Fujimoto: No, I don’t think that’s it. (lol)
Takahashi: No way.
Kamei: I think you’re amazing! When I ask you about a move, you directly show me how it goes.
Takahashi: Yeah!
Fujimoto: Really?
Takahashi: You got it all memorized.
Fujimoto: I give an immediate reply, huh?
Takahashi: Yes, you do! When we were learning the dance for “Go girl”… no, “Ai araba IT’S ALL RIGHT”, you were practicing next to me, right?
Fujimoto: Yeah.
Takahashi: I thought “She’s so quick!!”, your tempo was like… when I finished learning the first part, you had already learned the whole choreography.
Fujimoto: Really?
Michishige: Ehh, that’s amazing! That pressures you too, right?
Takahashi: Yeah, I thought “Oh no! I’m falling behind!”. (lol)
Fujimoto: But I probably couldn’t remember it after a while. Hahaha(lol)
Takahashi: Ahhh..
Michishige: (lol)
Fujimoto: Yeah…
Takahashi: We’re all like that.
Fujimoto: But at first I really couldn’t dance at all. In my first H!P concert, when we all sang Morning Musume’s “Mr. Moonlight” together…
Takahashi: Ahhh, yeah.
Fujimoto: There’s a part where we all come out singing “Soshite HANBAAGU”, right?
Takahashi: Yeah, yeah.
Fujimoto: I couldn’t even do the first move after coming out. Hahaha(lol) I was like “Eh, what’s with that move?!”. (lol)
Everyone: Haha(lol)
Fujimoto: When the rokkis had barely joined, we had to learn about 10 Morning Musume songs.
Michishige: We rokkis did it by ourselves.
Kamei: Ah, we did!
Fujimoto: We had about 3 hours for one song.
Michishige: It took us 3 hours…
Fujimoto: We had only 3 hours… Only 3 hours for one song and we learned 2 or 3 songs a day.
Takahashi: That’s tough.
Fujimoto: And I thought “Wow, I really learned them all.”.
Kamei: We really did our best back then, right?
Michishige: I couldn’t memorize them at all.
Kamei: But somehow..
Fujimoto: Shige-san is really good at dancing “Hyokkori Hyoutanjima”. (lol)
Michishige: Yes.
Takahashi: Is that so?
Michishige: But I haven’t even once performed it live yet. (lol)
Takahashi: Ah, that’s right! We haven’t performed it even once since the rokkis joined, right?
Fujimoto: Right.
Kamei: We haven’t.
Michishige: But “Hyokkori Hyoutanjima” is the song I’m best at.
Takahashi: Ah, I see.
Michishige: I want us to perform it live.
Fujimoto: (lol) That’s her wish.
Michishige: “Wish” (lol) But it’s the song Fujimoto-san dislikes the most, right? (lol)
Fujimoto: “Hyokkori” was definitely the most difficult song for me to learn.
Michishige: You react like “Kyaaa!”, right? (lol) “What was the next move?!” “I don’t know!”
Everyone: (lol)
Fujimoto: Right. (lol) It’s a fast song, so I couldn’t keep up with the others.
Takahashi: It’s really fast.
Fujimoto: It is! I see, then… So that means in H!P it’s Gocchin after all, huh?
Takahashi: Yes.
Kamei: That’s right.
Fujimoto: I see. Then the H!P member who’s good at dancing number one is Gotou Maki-chan!
Kamei: Yay!
Takahashi: Wai!
Fujimoto: Yes. Well then, that was all from “H!P Number One”! Yes, now we’d like you to listen to Morning Musume Otome gumi’s new song.
Michishige: Yes.
Fujimoto: Well, it’s been on sale since Feburary 25th. The Otome gumi members sing this song as a rooter’s song. The lyrics contain lines like “makenee, zettee makenee” for example and also say “Remember your hometown, your birthplace”. So we can really relate to the lyrics.
Michishige: That’s right.
Fujimoto: That’s why we’d like people, who are feeling down right now or doing their best to achieve something, to listen to this song.
Michishige: Yes.
Fujimoto: Then let’s just let it play, shall we?
Michishige: Yes!
Fujimoto: Morning Musume Otome gumi’s…
Fuji/Shige: Yuujou ~Kokoro no Busu ni wa Naranee!~

Kamei: 1008 kHz ABC Radio is broadcasting!
(intro: “Dekkai Uchuu ni Ai ga Aru”)
Fujimoto: Yes, now we have announcements from Hello! Project to make. Ehh.. The release date of Morning Musume’s “Best Of” album has been decided! Yay!
Everyone: Yay!
Fujimoto: Yes. It will be released on March 31st. “Best! Morning Musume 2″!
Kamei: Ohh!
Fujimoto: It contains all singles since “The Peace”, but we, we rokkis… started off with “Shabondama”.
(”Shabondama” playing in the background)
Fujimoto: And for the other 3 rokkis “Shabondama” is their debut song.
Takahashi: Ah, that’s right.
Fujimoto: And for me it’s my debut song in Morning Musume.
Takahashi: Right.
Fujimoto: That’s why I think it’s a special song for us after all.
Michishige: Yes.
Fujimoto: Ehh.. Among the songs we’ve performed in concerts and the songs included in this album.. There are many, right?
Everyone: Yes.
Fujimoto: If you ignore the fact that “Shabondama” is your debut song… is there a song among them which you find the most fun dancing to? You could also say that you like one particular part or dance move of the song…
Kamei: For me it’s “Souda! We’re alive!”.
Fujimoto: What do you like about the song?
Kamei: The “doryoku” part.
(”Souda! We’re alive!” playing in the background)
Kamei: It really feels like all the fans are singing it together with us..
Fujimoto: Ahh…
Kamei: It’s amazing. Of course it’s fun performing the song, but I’m sure the fans have a lot of fun with this song too. So it’s somehow… nice. That moment is really fun. Of course the whole song is fun, but…
Fujimoto: You like that part the most, huh?
Kamei: That’s right. It’s really powerful too.
Fujimoto: I see..
Kamei: Yes.
Michishige: For Michishige it’s “Ai araba IT’S ALL RIGHT”.
Fujimoto: Oh!
Michishige: When we’re singing it we all wave our hands like this, right? And everyone in the audience does it too.
Fujimoto: Yeah.
Michishige: I like the song so much. And also.. Isn’t it somehow really cute?
Fujimoto: Yes, it’s cute.
Michishige: In one part we move our arms like this and then jump like we’re rope-jumping.
Fujimoto: Hmm.. (lol)
Michishige: I really love this move!
Fujimoto: Ahhh..
Michishige: At that part I get strangely enthusiastic.
Fujimoto: (lol)
Takahashi: Be enthusiastic throughout the whole song!
Michishige: Yes, I’m sorry. (lol)
Takahashi: Throughout the whole song!
Fujimoto: I like that feeling during “Souda! We’re alive” that everyone’s singing it together too, but it’s “The Peace” for me.
Takahashi: Ahhh..
Fujimoto: When I’m dancing to it… I don’t know why but it becomes really fun. (lol) It becomes so much fun that it’s almost silly.
Kamei: You just naturally start smiling when you’re dancing it, right?
Fujimoto: Right, right. What about you, Aichan?
Takahashi: For me… it’s “Do it! Now”.
Fujimoto: Ahh, I see.
Takahashi: I like the intro of “Do it! Now”.
Fuji/Taka: Dararara~Dararara~♪ (lol)
Fujimoto: That’s how it goes, right?
(”Do it! Now” playing in the background)
Takahashi: It’s amazing, if I get too much into the dance I’ll bump into someone. I somehow like it. It gives me a kick.
Fujimoto: Ah, I know what you mean. When the music and the dance moves flow together, it feels really good.
Takahashi: Yeah!
Fujimoto: Like “Wooo!!”. (lol)
Everyone: (lol)
Takahashi: But for getting pumped up it’s “We’re alive” for me.
Fujimoto: Right. The feeling that everyone’s doing it with us is amazing.
Takahashi: Also the part where we all stop all of a sudden…
Fujimoto: Ahh..
Takahashi: That part is tremendous!
Michishige: “Tremendous” (lol)
Fujimoto: Go! Go! Go! Doryouku!♪
(”Souda! We’re alive” playing in the background)
Takahashi: And in this song we have… umm.. how do you call it… we have a message to convey to the audience.
Fujimoto: Yeah. At that part I sometimes feel like I’m going dizzy.
Takahashi: (lol)
Fujimoto: But I…
Michishige: We suddenly stop moving at once!
Fujimoto: Right. After the “Go! Go! Go!” I feel like going dizzy, but then I suddenly stop moving… (lol) I have to hang in there every time.
Michishige: (lol)
Fujimoto: Yes, like this… the album contains many songs full of special memories for us four..
Everyone: Yes.
Fujimoto: And it’s also our first best of album after joining Morning Musume, so…
Takahashi: That’s right.
Fujimoto: …please check it out by all means when it goes on sale on March 31st.
Everyone: Yes!
Fujimoto: That was the announcement from Hello! Project! Yes, now we’d like you to listen to one song.
Takahashi: Yes. It’s Sakura gumi’s new single.
Kamei: Yes!
Takahashi: What kind of song is it, Kamei-chan?
Kamei: It’s really too heartrending…
Takahashi: Yeah..
Kamei: So much that my chest starts throbbing…
Takahashi: Ahahaha(lol)
Fujimoto: “throbbing” (lol)
Takahashi: It does start throbbing, right?
Kamei: Yeah, it does.
Takahashi: Moreover doesn’t it make you think of older times?
Kamei: You’re right.
Takahashi: Like the image of women from earlier times.
Kamei: Right, right, rather than the present…
Takahashi: Yeah, the lyrics also contain old expressions that don’t get used anymore.
Kamei: Yes.
Takahashi: We’d like you to listen to the song while paying attention to that too.
Kamei: Yes.
Takahashi: Well, then please have a listen to Morning Musume Sakura gumi’s…
Kame/Taka: Sakura Mankai!

Song: Morning Musume Sakura gumi’s 「Sakura Mankai」 (21′21”)

Ending (25′19”)

Fujimoto: Yes.. It’s soon time to say goodbye!
Takahashi: Yes.
Fujimoto: How did you like it? How was it? How was it?
Michishige: Hmm… It was fun.
Fujimoto: Somehow it was over really quickly.
Kamei: So quickly, really quickly…
Fujimoto: If there’s something you forgot to mention… now is the time. Is there anything you want to say?
Takahashi: Is there?
Michishige: Something I forgot to mention?
Kamei: What could it be…
Fujimoto: Like “I’m actually this kind of person…”. Haha(lol)
Michishige: (lol)
Kamei: Wai-… (lol)
Fujimoto: Eh?
Takahashi: What? Wait a moment.
Fujimoto: What happened?
Takahashi: You’re about to hit your head against the mic. (lol)
Kamei: Today it’s been… really… what was it… fun for the time being. No, not for the time being, it’s been fun at any rate..
Fujimoto. ….(lol)
Kamei: When I was talking I thought… “Huh… I’m a Morning Musume member.”…
Takahashi: HUH…?!
Michishige: Are you ok? (lol)
Fujimoto: Umm.. You’ve been one for already a year though…
Takahashi: It’s been one full year since you joined, right, Kamei-san?
Kamei: Right! One year has passed!
Fujimoto: Yeah, one year…
Kamei: It happened in the blink of an eye too..
Takahashi: It went by fast!
Michishige: So fast!
Kamei: In any case I’ve realized that one year can pass this fast.
Michishige: It’s the first year that passed so fast!
Takahashi: You’re right…
Fujimoto: What kind of year do you want the second year to become?
Michishige: A very rich year. And also since I joined I’ve always said I’ll catch up to my senpai, but I still haven’t caught up to them at all.
Fujimoto: Mmm..
Michishige: That’s why this year… I definitely want to catch up with them.
Takahashi: Isn’t that great?
Fujimoto: Instead of only catching up to them… Try to overtake them please.
Michishige: Yes.
Takahashi: Right.
Fujimoto: (lol)
Michishige: Fujimoto-san. You better be prepared for it.
Fujimoto: Yes! Aichan, you prepare yourself too.
Takahashi: Ah, I’ll do my best!
Fujimoto: I’ll do my best so I don’t get overtaken.
Takahashi: Let’s all do our best!
Fujimoto: What about you, Erieri?
Kamei: Erieri too..
Fujimoto: What kind of year do you want the second one to become?
Kamei: In concerts for example… I was always too nervous at first.
Fujimoto: Yeah.
Kamei: But lately it’s gradually changed.. I’m still nervous, but another kind of nervousness has appeared.
Fujimoto: Yeah.
Kamei: I’ve realized very well how much fun concerts are.
Takahashi: Ohh…
Fujimoto: But you two are close to each other when we’re performing “We are alive”, right?
Kamei: Yes, we are.
Fujimoto: You always seem to be having lots of fun.
Kame/Shige: Hihihi(lol)
Fujimoto: You two always seem to be laughing your heads off.
Kame/Shige: (lol)
Takahashi: Really? I didn’t know that.
Fujimoto: Aichan, what about you? How many years have you been in MM now?
Takahashi: This is going to be my third year. That’s why… I’ll be one of the older members.
Fujimoto: You’re right. You’ll become 18 this year.
Takahashi: That’s right.. And after Abe-san graduating… Tsuji-san and Kago-san are about to graduate.
Fujimoto: Right..
Takahashi: Then I’ll count as one of the older members, right?
Fujimoto: Yes.
Takahashi: That’s why I can’t stay the way I am now, right?
Fujimoto: Well, I don’t know about that… (lol)
Takahashi: What I mean is that I have to become an adult.
Fujimoto: Oh… So becoming an adult is your goal?
Takahashi: But by becoming adult… I don’t mean changing my outward appearance. Instead I want to change the way I think etc.
Fujimoto: You want to become mature?
Takahashi: That’s right.
Fujimoto: Right. Well, at the end of last year I was asked “What kind of year do you want next year to become?” and I answered “A shining year.”.
Takahashi: Mmm..
Fujimoto: Yes. Shining in terms of my job and shining in terms of me as a person.

Fujimoto: I’ve become 19 year old too.
Takahashi: Ohh!
Michishige: Congratulations!
Kamei: Then you’re a big sister to us.
Takahashi: Ah, right, in February, huh?
Michishige: She’s really our big sister now.

BLT BLT

- The leader of High-King is of course Aichan?
Takahashi Ai: No, we haven’t decided the leader yet. Because it’s a unit consisting of each group’s leaders and captains.
Tanaka Reina: Then, let’s just take the middle and make Reina the leader.
The other 4: We’re counting on you.
Tanaka: No, no, no. (lol)
Takahashi: Why not?
Tanaka: Then I’m the “Leader”. (lol)

- Well then, the “Leader” should introduce the other members. First Takahashi Ai-chan.
Tanaka: As for Aichan, I know two kinds of Aichan. When she’s singing there’s a certain something about her that we can’t imitate, something that’s appropriate for her age. But when it comes to variety, she has a character where you ask yourself if she’s not the most childish one among us. One Aichan who’s mature and one who’s immature. I think the gap between these two makes men go crazy. (lol)

- Next is Shimizu Saki-chan.
Tanaka: The image I have of Saki-chan is “Saki-chan = dance”. When I see her in rehearsals of Hello!Project concerts, I think to myself “She’s really something else.”. Her dance is really intense. Makes you wonder “Isn’t it exhausting to dance like that?”. Isn’t it exhausting?
Shimizu Saki: Well, I can’t say it’s not exhausting at all…
Tanaka: But you can still keep on dancing for as long as the others. Even though your dancing is much more exhausting. I think it’s amazing.
Takahashi: You really like dancing, right?
Tanaka: Yeah, one can directly see that you love to dance.
Shimizu: Thank you very much.

- Next is Yajima Maimi-chan.
Tanaka: The impression I have of Maimi-chan is that she’s very modest. She seems well-mannered. Like the daughter of a high-class family. She’s intelligent, has a nice personality and is cute… That’s the kind of image I have of her. Like she always uses fork and knife when eating. (lol)

- She really seems like you said.
Yajima Maimi: No~ (shy)

- Then Maeda Yuuka-chan (born in December 28th, 1994).
Tanaka: The image I had of Yuuka-chan is that she’s tiny, but she’s suddenly grown taller. Her face is still like that of a child though. She seems to be calm and gentle, so I’m sure it’s very pleasant to be around her.

- Yuuka-chan, surrounded by these 4 (self-called) leaders and captains…. will you do your best?
Maeda Yuuka: Umm.. I’ll do my best!
The other 4: Cute~

- Well then, Aichan should introduce Reina-chan since you’re both in Morning Musume.
Takahashi: Reina said that I have two different personalities. However that’s not the case for Reina at all. She’s always just Reina. (lol) She’s the one of us with the most distinctive personality, so I think she’s a very strong-minded girl.

- What should we pay attention to when listening to your debut single “C\C (Cinderella\Complex)” which will be released on June 11th?
Tanaka: When I first heard that it’s the promotion song for “Cinderella the musical”, I thought it’d be a ballad. Like “Oh, happiness!”. (lol)
Shimizu: But it’s a very cool song and the lyrics are a bit sad too.
Yajima: The story of “Cinderella” mothers read out for their children when they’re small is about the fulfillment of your dreams. This is a song about a girl who knows that things don’t go as well in reality as in dreams.

- What do you think, Yuuka-chan?
Maeda: I haven’t sung many “cool” kind of songs in the newcomer performances, so I was worrying if I’ll be able to sing it in a cool way. But when I heard the song I thought I’d try to put myself into the position of the main protagonist and do my best.
Takahashi: This unit really has a fresh feel to it. The possibilities are endless and I’m looking forward to seeing what will happen from now on. That’s why I want everyone to look forward to “High-King” too.

- The story of “Cinderella” ends with a happy-end. Speaking of “Cinderella”, please tell us about “recent happy events” in your lives.
Takahashi: The other day when I got holidays after a long time, I did some extreme shopping. (lol) My mother accompanied me and I bought lots of dresses. I also bought dresses matching with my younger sister’s ones etc., it was a lot of fun.
Tanaka: This year we’ll go overseas on many occasions. Taiwan, South Korea, Shanghai.. I’m very happy that Morning Musume will get to perform live in many different places.
Yajima: I went to watch “Enchanted” with my mother the other day. I felt very happy after watching that movie and I was also very happy that I could go watch it because I love movies.
Shimizu: As for me, I’m happy that I can take part in this unit. When I see my senpai I think that I still have a long way to go and when I see Yuuka-chan I remember the time when I had only joined. A while ago I was talking about that with Maimi and saying “We were like just like that when we joined.”.
Maeda: For me it’s being able to take part in this unit as well. When I first heard about it, I was surprised and happy at the same time. I took a photo of the “C\C (Cinderella\Complex)” lyrics card with my cell phone and sent it to my mother.
The other 4: Cute~!

BLT

- This unit was formed to sing the promotion song for Morning Musume’s theater play “Cinderella the musical” which will be performed in August. It’s a quite fresh combination of members.
Tanaka: Reina gets called a senpai of Berryz Koubou and C-ute members, but actually I’m the one who’s their kouhai.
Takahashi: I also joined only a few months before or after these two (Yajima & Shimizu), so I feel that they’ve become so big now. And you were all so small back then~(lol)
Shimizu & Yajima: (lol)
- And there’s also the representative of the H!P eggs, Maeda Yuuka-chan, making her first appearance in this magazine.
Yajima: She’s very calm and she also has a calm way of talking. I’ve been thinking about how cute she is all this time.
Shimizu: It was Maeda-chan who helped pulling my outfit when I had to take it off during our Kouhaku Utagassen performance. When I had problems changing my outfit during the actual performance I could only take it off because Maeda-chan pulled for me. That really saved me.
Maeda: At that time I only thought “Pull! Pull!”. (lol)
Takahashi: She’s sooo innocent and cute, that’s for sure.
Tanaka: I was totally surprised when I heard her cute singing voice. It’s a voice that makes you want to repeat it and listen to it again and again.
Maeda: Thank you very much.
- What kind of song is the debut song where you can listen to that cute singing voice?
Maeda: It’s a sad song, but I was told to sing in a cool way, so I paid attention to that when singing.
Shimizu: From the moment I heard of the line-up I thought that it’s going to be a cool song and I was right.
Takahashi: I felt sympathy with the girl in the lyrics who has someone she likes and tries not to lose to her rival(s), but no matter what she does her rival(s) look(s) cuter than her.
- By the way what kind of musical is “Cinderella the musical” which is currently in preparation?
Tanaka: I play the role of one of Cinderella’s elder sisters and I think the role suits my character. (lol)
Takahashi: This time we follow a script which has already seen so many different versions and create our own version of it. We’re partly anxious because there are already other versions you can compare ours to, but I think it’d be nice if we can bring out what’s characteristic of Morning Musume.
- What’s the charm of the new unit?
Takahashi Ai: First of all they’re all young. A while ago I was shocked to hear that everyone except me was born in the Heisei era (starting 1989). I’m in a strange state now wondering why I’m in this unit. (lol)
Tanaka Reina: I’m happy that I got selected out of Morning Musume. There are 3 leaders and captains in this unit, so it feels like they’re all good at keeping things in order. But maybe Reina can be at ease because of that. (lol)
Shimizu Saki: It’s a unit with my senpais from Morning Musume, Maimi from my gen and my kouhai Maeda-chan. When I’m between them, I strongly think “I don’t want to lose to them!”.
Yajima Maimi: “There has never been a group like this consisting of members from so many different groups, so it’s a weird feeling. As one of 5 members, I think it’d be nice if I can bring out a different side of me.
Maeda Yuuka: When I was called out by staff people during a newcomer performance, I thought I would get scolded. But when I heard that it was decided that I would join this unit, I was so surprised I couldn’t say a word. I’ll do my best!
